Vintage wear has formed our current fashion trends and is a cornerstone for many of the styles in current inspirations. Bootleg vintage is often more creative and wild interpretations/collabs with what was popular then (ie Mickey Mouse & Nike). However, with the help of technology today, fakes are extremely frowned upon and cause cautionary measures for online buyers when essentially, vintage bootleg has extremely similar concepts of what fakes are today. What makes these two concepts different? Bootleg vintage wear had more creativity and was not a difficult to differentiate from the real clothing brands. There was not as much of an attempt for replicas like there is with fake clothing and sneakers today, but rather independent collabs with the logos that we adore. Could bootleg wear become popular and accepted again without the idea of fakes? Or have we become to cautionary and fearing of the idea that we are wearing things that many people would look down at us for sporting? via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2uvdKta
