Off-White and Gorman Clothing called out for ripping off the curatorial efforts of a Fruit Sticker sharing Instagram, and exposed for stealing copyright designs from fruit companies.

Heres the comment from the post found hereBack in 2015 when I started this account to document and share my fruit stickers collection, I never imagined that it would become such a major source of 'inspiration' in the fashion industry. Maybe it's a compliment that my carefully curated collection has gained so much attention that it's deemed cool enough to use on $3000 jackets and $200 jeans. πŸ™„The luxury streetwear brand @off____white by @virgilabloh and Australian women's clothing label @gormanclothing by @_lisagorman have both recently drawn upon my collection for their latest releases. Whilst I'd be wrong to claim any sort of rights over the designs themselves, it's telling that both of these brands were so devoid of imagination that they couldn't look beyond my instagram page as their design source (btw thanks for following @silverpalmm, graphic designer @gormanclothing πŸ‘‹πŸΌ). They ripped off my curatorial efforts, not my designs and it's simply lazy. 😴I've shared 600 stickers so far, but my physical collection spans thousands. I could have easily worked with either of these brands at the development stage. ¯_(ツ)/¯ As it goes I'm also pretty clued up on which designs have expired copyright, something that neither @off___white or @gormanclothing appear to have any knowledge of as they have both ripped off designs from major distribution brands such as @dolesunshine and @chiquitabrands... Thoughts? (4th image reposted from @diet_prada)What are you guy's thoughts? I've been following this account for a while and am a big fan of the dudes curations and work, feels kinda slimy to me. (also ripping off designers and artists is fucked up) via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2zhQQcv
