[Guide] Footwear - Essentials, Affordable & High End

Hi. From time-to-time I notice that someone who may be newly introduced to Streetwear or perhaps even just wants to buy a new pair of shoes, asks the question: "What are the best shoes on a '...' budget", or something along the lines of that. Therefore, I thought that I would take the time to compile an up to date list on what are in my opinion the best essential footwear, the affordable footwear, and then steering towards the more high-end side of things. I hope this guide can help anyone new to Streetwear, and even anyone who is interested in copping their next shoe. Finally, in this guide I will state brand, price, stock-list and by knowledge or experience, comfort and sustainability. However, I cannot speak for all pieces of footwear in terms of their comfort/sustainability, so do not take my word for it.ESSENTIALS:VANS:DESCRIPTION:Vans have been, and should always be an essential item in a footwear rotation. The classic trio: Authentic, Old Skool and Sk8 Hi are all renowned for an easy and minimalistic silhouette which work great for building the base of an outfit, whether it be a slim or more baggy proportion, Vans have always been a staple and notable footwear choice in streetwear. The shoes themselves, particularly Old Skool's in my opinion, always have a perfect look even when they're beat, which brings me onto sustainability. From my experience, my Old Skool's have lasted me a good amount of time, and still have much more life left in them as of now. Footwear from Vans are made of course made for skating in, so getting them beat and dirty is natural for this shoe. Finally, there is a huge range of colors and even more models and silhouettes to choose from to find what suits you perfectly. It is a perfect start to building a rotation.PRICE:Usually retails at £55.00 - may differ with collaborations.W2C:Vans Authentic - £ 52.00Vans Old Skool - £ 57.00Vans Old Skool - £ 55.00Vans Sk8-HI - £ 60.00GENERAL SELECTION OF MODELS/SILHOUETTES £ 17.00 - £ 380.00ADIDAS:DESCRIPTION:Like Vans, Adidas also have beautiful models of shoes which should be a staple to everyone's rotation. Shoes which have always had a huge popularity, such as Gazelle and Stan Smith's, are classics and come with both a large color range and great silhouette. Shoes which I believe are more underrated and are also truly great are Hamburg's, Munchen's, 350's, Gazelle Super (the vintage take on the Gazelle model), Trimm Trab's, Topanga's, the list goes on. Most Adidas shoes are also at amazingly affordable prices and hopefully referring to this list, you guys will find some great shoes, but I will list what are in my opinion, the three most classic, obtainable and affordable shoes for your rotation. Finally, Adidas' comfort and sustainability is perfect. If you need a comfortable runner to work with a more casual outfit, you have Ultra Boosts, if you want a more structured and in my opinion, expandable shoe for your outfits, try Stan Smith's.PRICE:Ranges from £69.95 - £79.95W2C:Adidas Gazelle - £ 74.95Wider range of Gazelle's - leather, gum sole, primeknit, different colorwaysStan Smith £ 69.95Adidas Samba £ 79.95, very wide range, so will post general shoe found on Adidas websiteNIKE:DESCRIPTION:Nike have always had amazing and interesting silhouettes for their footwear. Whether it is a bulky shoe like the Air Max series (90, 95, 97, 98, etc.), the classic Air Force One, or a more slim and sleek model such as Janoski or Blazer low's, there should always be at least one Nike silhouette in a selection of shoes. Comfort and sustainability, like Vans and Adidas, is also amazing and most definitely worth it speaking for the Nike items which I own. In my opinion, the three most essential and perfect footwear options for Nike are:PRICE:£ 34.47 - £ 169.95Nike Air Force One - large selection so will post general colorways - £ 74.95 - £ 159.95Nike Air Max - hard to select which particular model, so will post the general amount - £ 62.97 - £ 169.95(Nike Blazer - will post general amount raging from low, mid to hi - £ 34.47 - £ 99.47)[http://ift.tt/2iRgQ7b hope this has helped everyone to find a new shoe, or start to build a rotation for their essential shoes. I will now list off shoes which are under £100 - somewhat affordable options:NIKE:sb dunk lownike SB janoskiREEBOK:reebok club c85reebok workoutADIDAS:gazelle supermunchenhamburg350NEW BALANCE:670 (sort of hard to find)574new balance 247CONVERSE:chuck taylor all starfastbreak - quite hard to findall star lowconverse one starPUMA:(puma suede)[http://ift.tt/2zn86Nx little less in depth, but a more general and wider option of shoes to pick from. Finally, we'll look at high end footwear. Unfortunately, I'm a brokeboi right now, so I do not own any of the following footwear and instead of giving an in-depth description as I did with essentials, I will name the designer, shoe, and the links.RAF SIMONS:OZWEEGOMATRIX SPIRIT LOWRAF STANSMARGIELA:GATPAINT SPLATTER GATSFUTURE HICOMMON PROJECTS:ACHILLES LOWThank you for reading my guide. I apologize if I missed your favorite shoe, or any other shoe which I should have noted. For high end, I would have listed footwear such as Balenciaga Triple S and Sockrunners, but because of availability being so low without having to pay above retail, I figured I would just list my favorite and most accessible high end shoes. This is my first guide, so any criticism is appreciated.EDIT: mistakes via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2z1yvgv
