[DISCUSSION] jobs within fashion

So your boy is graduating high school and going into college, and like most of us I would like to work within the fashion industry. Of course there’s the big jobs that everyone wants to do such as designer or model, but the chances that I make it as one of those things is very slim. So my question is, what are some other jobs within fashion that are more realistic and obtainable. I know that there’s fashion merchandising, but I fear that if I do that I’ll just end up as a manager at a Marshall’s or a similar discount clothing store. So if anyone has any experience themselves within the fashion industry or just has an idea drop a comment, I would really appreciate it. [Discussion] Constructive Criticism

Hello fellow streetwear redditors,Recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of, “this fit is bad” comments on wdywt thread and posts. As a beginner in streetwear and learner, I think it would be helpful to me and others like me to see reason what makes the fit bad. This will help the community learn why certain fit should be avoided, or why certain silhouettes just don’t work. [DISCUSSION] Need some advice from the experts!

Guys, for a school project I'm writing a advice report for friend who owns a skateshop. I'm currently researching trends in the skateworld/streatwear scene.However, he noticed some issues, skaters don't have a lot of spendable income, thus he wants to transform his skateshop into a skate-boutiek, a shop which has the skate lifestyle and image but also sells streetwear.But he wants to sell more unique streetwear pieces and unique skate brands. But the selling prices for the t-shirts have to be in the lower bracket, somewhere around 25-40 €. Because he noticed that the tees between those prices are selling the best.These are the brands he is currently selling:- Evisen- Goodbie skateboards- Hoddle skateboards- Hotel Blue NYC- Thrasher- Hard Luck- JT&CO- (own company brand tees and sweats)So my question for you guys, what are some unique streetwear/skate brands which are not too mainstream but are getting a lot of hype and recognition? [DISCUSSION] To the guy who harassed me about streetwear in value village yesterday, please don't ever do that again

Hey bro, not sure if you browse this sub, but judging by your lingo i'd assume you do.Yesterday I was at Value Village in Toronto, looking for some clothing for the summer, I was wearing a purple Stussy shirt and jeans with some floral vans.I copped my whole fit (which isnt even good) at a variety of thrift stores, cuz for me money is hard to come by.You went out of your way to come up to me and strike a conversation about how im looking for "the northface supreme bape colab", and proceeded to follow me around the store as I looked for clothes.I asked you kindly to go away, and you were persistent in following me, even going as far as to grabbing random pieces of clothing on the racks and shoving them in my face and yelling (in a crowded store) how you found the new supreme colab.im unsure if you have some issues or what, but please don't do that to anyone else. that wasn't cool bro.as if getting by as it is isnt difficult, you doing that made the one thing I enjoy doing, that being finding nice looking clothes in my budget, a very unenjoyable experience. via /r/streetwear https://ift.tt/2IPdJJq

[DISCUSSION] haven't experienced winter in ages, pls help

moving to the netherlands in late summer. only have 2 old sweaters and an old barbour gladwell with a few rips and tears that's one size too big that i'll try to get rid of. i'm tempted to try and shrink it by throwing it in a pillow case and into the tumble dryer.but anyway, other than that, i've no other jackets. i've always wanted a leather jacket and have been eyeing the avery by deadwood and goosecraft's biker jacket. i really like wearing big scarves that are more girly, so i feel like bomber jackets are totally out. i'm looking into peacoats and overcoats, but not sure which brands to look into. i'm also tempted to get a barbour international that has a lining, like Duke.i'll be in london for a few days in august, so i'm open to suggestions on thrift shops i could check there. i'm hoping all saints has a sale cos their jackets are hella cool, love that denim ones with "textured" collars.but i can only afford to get 2 jackets/coats, unless i adjust my budget. i guess i don't really know what to choose, but i want sth that sorta "pops". so, not a generic navy peacoat. i'm not sure which brands to look at. any suggestions?my budget for the main winter coat is about 250 euros and about 100 euros for the lighter jacket (i.e, denim jacket for e.g).in terms of shoes, i've a pair of black suede derbies and a pair of van's that've been destroyed. want to replace the van's with a pair of nike SBs. meermin and story et fall look nice, but since i'm already spending a lot on shoes, i'm looking at clark's mainly. my school will have a few more formal events so i'd need to be suiting up. i'm not sure if i should get cropped jodhpurs or chelseas, and what colour to get and if i should get suede or leather. i want sth i could wear with black, distressed blue jeans and chinos. atm, i feel like grey suede or brown are my best bets, seeing as i already own black suede shoes.as you can see, i'm kinda minimal and am looking for items that are more versatile. these are the best i could come up with after hours of obsessive searching, but i'm only just getting into streetwear, so that's why i'm asking over here.cheers via /r/streetwear https://ift.tt/2J3HGEH
