Does anyone feel like a lot of what's popular on this sub only looks good in pictures?

Lately, I've been seeing a lot more people in my city going for "streetwear" looks. For instance, the other night at a bar, there was a guy wearing a sorta retro shirt with dad pants on and those weird lumpy 90's running shoes. It looked balanced and everything, and I'm sure it would have looked nice in pictures, like for this sub, but seeing it in person I felt it just looked very out of place. It didn't look "natural", I guess, because it appeared he was obviously going for a "look", and that his whole outfit was planned out, but that just made it look kinda dumb.To be honest, I also sorta feel the same way when I see someone wearing one of the big "/r/streetwear" brands, like Antisocialclub or Supreme or something. It's like "oh ok, I guess that person is street?", but once again, it has a very strong "unoriginal" feeling to it, even though it is "original" in this city.I don't know if it's a personal preference based only on the visual pallet, or if "politics" are also involved, but I think street looks the best when you don't even notice the brand. And by that I don't mean that there shouldn't be logos or anything involved, I just mean you shouldn't associate that logo or brand with a subreddit, because it makes it feel meme'ish. And the same goes for the general style, it needs to look "natural", and not like you've learned everything from this sub. via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2u8MtKa
