/r/streetwear, it's time we talked about memes. They're posted a lot here, and 99% are removed. We've got filters in place on comments, we've got filters in place on posts, we've asked nicely, we've asked not so nicely. Unfortunately the memes keep flooding in.From now on, we're taking a hardline stance to memes in both post, and comment form. We've seen a decline in the rate of quality posts on the subreddit and in increase in unnecessary shitposting. While banning was something we tried to avoid before, we will now be handing out bans at a more frequent rate to those trying to circumvent or straight up ignore the rule on memes. We believe this harder approach will lead to an increase in the proportion of quality content on the subreddit (if even just due to less shitposting). We have also discussed the idea of allowing meme mondays where on mondays memes can be posted. We were very divided on this idea with some mods fearing it would 'leak' to users continuing to post them on non-designated days and overall destroy the feel of the subreddit. We haven't reached a decision yet, but if you have an opinion on this idea please do share as we'd love to hear what you think. As always feedback is welcome both here and over at /r/streetwearmeta.Best,/r/Streetwear Mod Team via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2sSKl9Z
