I'm a sneaker lover since 1991 and there's a few things that have been on my mind lately. The latest Yeezy release reminded me how this industry shits all over the people who help make it what it is. First off, before you start with the predictable "salt" reply hear me out. Honestly I've never had any interest in a Yeezy outside of trying to cop for my little cousin, a huge Kanye fan and sneaker addict in the making. I try manual on a few sites and enter about 4 raffles for every Yeezy release. If I miss its cool. If I hit I'm fucking man of the year in my little cuz's eyes . So It's not "salt" at all. It's fucking watching this hobby I've loved for years go to shit. It's watching stores and brands shit all over us. Stores and brands we fucking helped make what they areAdidas to start. It's impossible to convince everyone to boycott a brand but am I crazy to want to organize something through social media to get their attention? Use multiple forums to organize and some hashtag activism to bombard their twitter accounts? All these ATC services and bots post screenshot proof of their success so we have things to show them. Tell them fix their fucking site or we'll bombard social media about your bullshit lack of caring about customers. Contact some of these fucking blogs and make them write something other than God damn promotional pieces. They steal content from our subs anyway. Time they fucking help.Say we'll boycott. I don't know. Maybe we can organize a boycott. We can still at least threaten a boycott while we make their twitter and maybe they're email or something blow up with complaints relentlessly. It's just how much shit do we have to eat before we tell adidas to get their shit together?Another industry, concert tickets, is full of cheating at checkout. At least some bands and venues do something about it. And in our hobby Nike is trying. Some boutiques are trying. Adidas did fucking nothing to stop buying with bots, b/d or whatever the fuck these people use. can't we do something to make them care about cheating? I'll spearhead this mother fucker but one person has no chance. Do you think I'm dreaming or what? We got a good starting point of sneaker lovers who use social media and got boned by adidas. The second target would be stores that cheat their customers out of a fair shot at the stock adidas supplies to them. I know some of you "respect the hustle" or whatever the bullshit excuse you use to justify pairs going out the backdoor for a huge mark up. If you respect a store fucking their customer base then I respectfully ask what the fuck is wrong with you? Stores that get Yeezy releases have no excuse to sell shit out the backdoor. Pretty much Only Successful stores get Yeezy drops. Some struggling little joint ain't getting the hottest releases in many years. So these successful, profitable businesses shit on and cheat the people who made them successful and profitable? And we sit by and watch? Fuck that. Let's put them on blast. Let the world and adidas and Nike know they cheat their customers for more money and ignore release procedures and MSRP. I've tweeted adidas and Nike before about shops fucking with the release procedure and selling for above MSRP . They have almost always at least replied. Maybe they didn't do anything about it but let's see them ignore hundreds of us. Thousands of us. Let's see if a boutique has the balls to rig another release while they're already labeled a fraud all over social media. Let's see if they fuck around knowing adidas will get another wave of tweets warning them a distributor isn't following procedures. Let's see if any shops make fucking changes because they are tired of being put on blast or of losing sales.Let's just fucking do something. We give them our hard earned cash and free publicity by discussing their products online. We decide what will sell and what will sit. We're everything to the people who take advantage of us and shit on us. Let's try to remind them of that .I'm no social media expert so I'm asking for help. Lots of it. Talk to me. Am I wasting my time? Crazy? Why? Wanna help structure a coordinated attack? I figure we get a hashtag or two going and bomb twitter. Tweet at adidas and sneaker and streetwear blogs/sites. We also crowd source a list of stores that backdoor pairs and sites that don't do shit to stop people from exploiting their site and go at their twitter. Maybe reach out to NikeTalk and any other big sneaker and streetwear forum. Let's do this. Lets do something. via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2dsBuI7
