Whilst visiting Chicago a few weeks ago I decided I absolutely needed to go to RSVP gallery, not only did I know of their great selection but also knowing how much of a staple it is for the Chicago (and US) fashion scene. When I walked in I was just so excited to just intake everything and look at all the different clothes because being from Cincinnati, there were no stores like this at all around me, so it was an experience. While I was looking around, a guy approached me, introduced himself as the head photographer at RSVP gallery and said they were going to be doing some shooting and if I could take some shots with them. At this point I'm pretty shocked because in no way shape or form did I fucking plan on modeling for this pretty famous store that I had literally JUST walked into, especially since I had never modeled before but really wanted to. I obviously say yes, and then he takes me into the back where the dressing room was at. He said I would be wearing OAMC, Acne Studios, and Public School, and then hands me some clothes to change in to. I change in the bathroom and at this point I was just still in utter disbelief that this was actually happening. I texted my mom "MOM I'M FUCKING MODELING FOR THIS STORE YOU GUYS CAN JUST GO WITHOUT ME", because we had planned on going to the museum and they were waiting in the car for me to get done shopping initially. I don't think my family knew how much of an opportunity this was for me and they just got pissed but understood. So fast forward to the shoot location and it's in this dope ass BMX park with lots of cool spots for pictures. At first it was just me getting pictures taken of myself, but halfway through the shoot another model showed up and he put on some Public School as well and then we took pictures with one another and they all turned out really well. Overall it was a great experience and I was just so shocked that it happened to me, some random kid who just stumbled into the store one day. It's ironic because on the way to breakfast that same morning, 2 hours before the shoot, my dad asked me, "If you're so into fashion, why don't you start modeling?".
