Addressing Common Criticisms

Hey guys, I understand recently there's been a lot of criticism of the sub (really starting to become a new meme trend for karma, just wait) and some of these include (but aren't limited to):W2C/IDSmall BrandsMods Not Doing Their JobQuality ContentNow, I recently made a comment addressing these points so I'll just copy and paste it here for you guys to read. To get it out of the way, no there will not be any subreddit run by the mods for W2Cs and IDs and we will not make a stickied thread for them. They're just not viable long term solutions. With that being said here is my view on the issues the users are addressing:"Honestly, I don't even mind the criticism, there are some valid points but most of the criticism ends up being unrealistic. Take for example the influx of W2Cs and IDs as of late. It's hard to counter them, you can't have a stickied thread whether daily or not, since most of the comments will go unanswered. Another suggestion is a subsidiary sub, which is also not a long term solution, there's no guarantee it'll take off and pull all the ID's and W2C posts there, secondly, we'd need somebody to run it. Another complaint is low effort posts, we usually delete tons of these, TONS, of them. Bullsfan does a lot for the sub considering he has over 2000+ actions most months which is just deletion of memes and low effort posts. But we all get busy with work and lives, thus it's hard to constantly delete them all day, which results in users thinking we don't take this seriously, when in actuality we're deleting a lot of posts in whatever free time we have. Also, take for example content, users blame us for not sticking real content or not providing it, that's not the case, we'd love to support them. But it's up to the users to put such content together. And it's really hard to keep doing so when your work is less appreciated than a meme or a w2c on the front page at 200+ upvotes when your quality content is sitting at 30. As I said, content is dictated by users, and quality content gets ignored resulting in complaints when it is their, not saying this is every user, fault. I know I didn't cover every point, but I hope I made my opinion clear, I agree with you guys, the sub can be better, but while everybody decides to suddenly blame us they upvote a new ID or w2c thread or a meme instead of providing or upvoting quality content. Hell the WDYWT, despite it being stickied sits at 10-30 upvotes a day. It's an annoying thing to receive the blame for something the users can fix themselves.edit: tagging u/madjamaica so he sees this response too.edit2: Also to touch on small brands, a lot of the brands on here are beloved by users, and that's great. It's another thing when they advertise constantly, it breaks Reddit's rules as well as gives them no incentive to be an active member of the community. Hence our stance and rules towards them. We want to support our sub brands, but when they only want to post whenever they have a drop or an idea, it becomes an issue of if this is a board where they can just self promote freely, or if this a board where streetwear lovers can discuss their passion or hobby. As anybody else, I lean toward discussion rather than something for just self promotion."Hopefully, this covers most of what you guys have wanted us to discuss with you guys. The mods also have no ideas for combatting the influx of W2Cs and ID's so if you can come up with a viable long term solution for them besides a thread or another sub, please feel free to comment below, and I'll be happy to get back to you guys.
