I swear to god, every day there is a new thread asking for hoodie recommendations, so I'm finally putting together a guide. Put this in the sidebar, pin it or something, because these posts have got to stop.£- H&M: There are range of hoodies available at your local fast fashion retailer. From my experience, they're pretty thin, but you might want that. Don't expect a high quality, heavy hoodie, but hey, you get what you pay for, and there's a tonne of colours available.- Gildan: Cheap as chips and come in almost every possible colour there is. Quality isn't great, but at the price, it's ok. Something to be wary of is the waistband, which can be quite tight, and cause layers underneath to flare out.- Independent IND4000: A range of colours and patterns, but by all accounts, a little heavier and softer than Gildan.- This nameless AliExpress Yeezy rip off brand: Honestly, I took a chance over a year ago on an oversized black hoodie, and it's amazing. Exactly the fit I wanted, really heavy, and has held up perfectly as an "every day" hoodie.££- Champion: Again, a full range of colours and styles. More expensive than your bargain basement brands, but heavier and softer, if that's what you're looking for.- Cotton Ridge Hoodies: I can attest to the good quality of these hoodies, the sports team I play for uses them for their merch. Really warm, heavy and soft, with little details like thumb holes on the cuffs, and smaller pockets inside the pouch pocket if you're looking for that sort of thing.£££- Cos: Every hoodie I've had from H&M's more upmarket sister brand has been great quality for the price. Not that heavy, but good construction and will last a long time. Unfortunately, they only seem to market one or two colours at a time.- Champion Reverse Weave: A step up in quality and price from the standard Champion gear. Some colours that aren't available in the cheaper models.- Carharrt WIP Chase: Probably my top recommendation for quality at the price point. Very well constructed with the flatlock stitching, and comes in a range of more muted colours.££££- Ronin Tonal Hoodie: Usually in muted colour/earth tone, these hoodies are heavy, soft, everything you want a hoodie to be. They have subtle branding matching the colour of the hoodie. They also sell out very quickly when they do drop.- Reigning Champ: Comes in either full zip or pullover, I can't personally attest to the quality of these hoodies, but everybody on here seems to rave about them. Part of the price, and reassurance on quality, comes from their handmade construction in Canada.- John Elliott: Regarded as high quality, stylish hoodies by r/streetwear consensus, especially the "Villain" hoodie, which I believe has some side zips. Some construction in the USA.£££££- Rick Owens DRKSHDW: Made in Italy, this longer-line hoodie can be used as part of your classic Rick fit, but is versatile enough to be used in a range of other styles.- Yeezy: Usually a boxer fit, with longer sleeves and a shorter body, also made in Italy, and is a pretty heavy hoodie.I sincerely hope that this guide has been helpful and will keep people from posting "Hey r/streetwear, what are some good hoodies?"
