New to /r/streetwear, tried my hands at tapering some pants without a sewing machine.

So I'm new here, but I've been browsing this sub nonstop for the past week. I'm on the low end of broke currently so it's rough seeing all your dope fits and finding out how much they usually are, but I figured I could make something work for myself.I thrifted a bunch of jeans with the intention of tapering them after seeing a few posts and watching the /u/elevatedike video. I picked up an old Kenmore sewing machine for $3.75 (mom works at habitat so I used it as an excuse to visit) but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work well. So, I tapered by hand.I forgot a full before picture of the pants but these are the pants half tapered: http://ift.tt/2awCcxA these pants have cargo pockets I ended up having to taper the inseam instead of the outer seem like the videos I watched showed. The process was the same though. I bought a pair of jeans from Elwood on sale that ended up being too small, but I used them as a guide for these pants. I just laid them over top and traced the legs.A little bit of what I was doing: http://ift.tt/2aIMEp2: http://ift.tt/2awCswh "fit" pics: http://ift.tt/2aIM62n wanna say it took about 5 hours give or take. I stopped to eat and stuff so I'm not entirely sure. Wasn't too much work and I'm gonna do it again. I'm actually super stoked on how they turned out. If they weren't camo pants I'd probably wear these everyday. Lemme know what you guys think! via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/2arLgbb
