Welcome to the first feature in our hopefully on going series of user collections. A few days ago we had a submission from our street wear local /u/laf67. He's got a very solid collection going here featuring designers like Rick Owens and Off White combined with some old favorites like Nike and Supreme. He also has some of the hottest collaborations in recent years with Nike x Tisci, Yeezy x Adidas, and Nike x Supreme. Below you can get an understanding of his style in his own words and a peek at the best part of his collection. If you would like to be featured and can meet the criteria from the stickied thread then feel free to send your submissions to me and /u/fatasiantoby for review. The Collectionhttp://imgur.com/a/ilBACStyle philosophyMy streetwear journey started when I got to university in Toronto circa late 2014. Having been a quiet kid in high-school I felt more of a need to impress the people around me and make new friends, and I thought that dressing well would do that for me. The problem is, unlike a bunch of the other people that were in business programs, international relation etc. I fucking hate suits and dress pants. The saving grace was that I was starting to love sneakers and would always go to foot locker etc. and look at all the new Jordans and Nike stuff that was released. I used Complex (when it wasn’t TMZ as per now) and Hypebeast to find new sneakers and from there I got introduced to Hood by Air and Off-White. I thought this clothing looked really cool and I started finding small boutiques around my city that sold the stuff. When I visited these places I found out that they sold a lot of brands I never heard about before Rick Owens, Raf Simons, Damir Doma, Haider Ackerman etc. And that’s basically how I found r/ and ended up here today.I can’t think of any way to sum up the way that I dress other than stating that my favourite things to wear are almost always black or white exclusively. My closet looks like a panda bear. As sneakers are my first love they are definitely the most expensive part of my collection with the second being my crewnecks and t-shirts. I’ve always hated spending money on pants or jeans so that’s why I don’t have any insanely nice pairs of bottom-wear. If I had to name my aesthetic it would probably be street-grunge. I (generally) only wear fitted/tight bottom-wear and I generally buy draped, flowing tops. I love leather jackets, and hate wearing outerwear that isn’t black. Thanks for reading and looking through my stuff guys, if anyone has any critiques or suggestions on stuff I should pick-up/wear differently I'd love to hear them. My IG is @laf.photography for anyone interested, I'm just starting to make it quality so there isn't much on there rn. - /u/Laf67 via /r/streetwear http://ift.tt/1Tfaruz
