Inspired from the top post earlier, I want to make a plea with the mods. This sub used to be a place where anyone could post and spread their ideas, now it’s become elitist to the point where it’s just power users using this sub as instagram and gathering mega-clout. Instead of seeing new, creative fits it’s the same styles and fits made by the same handful of users.I understand the whitelist system and why it was implemented but we all know no one cares enough to go through it except the die-hard users which post almost everyday. And you could say this has eliminated annoying, repetitive trends but they’re still here. A painted denim jacket is at the top of this sub every other day.Why does this sub have to be different from every other sub? Why do the mods take fashion this seriously and force you to be a serial-poster if you want to contribute a good fit? Streetwear is about individuality and expression so why are there so many draconian rules implemented just to make this sub more restricted. This is why we have like 600k dead subs, and it’s why this sub peaked 2 years ago.I believe that the whitelist should be removed, there shouldn’t be a WDYWT thread that casual users aren’t gonna post to, and that memes should be allowed so this sub is actually interesting again. They really banned memes hahaha. And also don’t make people type a paragraph for a simple question because we all know half the questions in the designated thread go unanswered. All creativity and unique ideas come from casual posters, but they meet a wall when they have to go through the whitelist bullshit. And for those complaining about an influx of trash posts, karma naturally filters the good posts from the shitty. And it doesn’t even matter if there are shitty posts just browse past them, like almost every sub on Reddit. I know there was a vote and the opinions of users change a lot but we can tell that a mostly unrestricted sub is better for interesting and funny content. Please discuss.Edit: I know I don’t contribute but my opinion is still valid and stems from browsing this sub since 2015 and watching the quality and overall fun atmosphere deteriorate. via /r/streetwear https://ift.tt/2DRVGhZ
